I'm gonna throw a stage 2 wastgate on my car. I have stage 1, 8.5 wires, ngk's, FMIC, 3in. catless DP/modified mopar/borla
I've heard some ppl say its hard to tune the wg on a stage 1,
anyone else runnin the S2 WG with their S1 pcm?

you can run the S2 wastegate with any amount of mods. Yea, just make sure you preload it right.
You like the performance, but agp and ptp are a lot better

The advantage of the STG2 wga is you can hook up you vac lines like stock if you want to. The question comes into play of preload. Some have kept it the STG2 setting of 4mm, others have changed it to 0mm. The argument goes that if you keep it at 4mm, you have to teach the STG1 pcm that it has a stronger wga. Once it learns it can control boost accordingly. That means it will compensate for atmospheric conditions. Others have stated that you keep it initially at 0mm preload untill the pcm learns the new wga, then you start adding preload untill the boost spikes to 18psi. Those advocates say that when you preload at 4mm, then the pcm learns the wga, your boost levels will be lower than doing the initial 0mm preload. Have you fallen asleep yet?
I have not seen any definitive information on this first hand, just what I have read.

X2 with Sean. You ever consider getting a ptp or agp wga? I personally think that would be a good route 2 go

PTP wga is a good choice. I've got one on my car.

agp w/ ptp spring is the best imo

I wouldn't do it, get an agp. Or go stage 2.

PTB FTL...
Stage 2 wga doesn't have ptb. And it's not hard to drive with it

you really wont have ptb unless you go off of pcm boost

Exactly. So a S2 WGA won't have PTB because if you don't run it off stock lines you get very little boost

I know, i was talking about the AGP WG, that's why I just said go full stage 2.
I remember Miller ran stage 2 WG with stage 1 and his A/F's where in the 14's-15's.

I have AGP and PTP wastegates on stock PCM cars with AFs in 10s. Something was wrong with Miller's car. And yeah give me a call today

Maybe my car would drive a little better with a Stage 2 wga I'm thinking now. Cause my boost leak is really bad I admit but it didn't effect the car so much until I went off pcm control and I think I want to at least try it out for a week. It's hard to spool the car below 3,000rpms.

s2 wga = weak sauce. waste of money. take that and buy a couple cases of budweiser and you'll be happier. I have the AGP w/ the PTP spring... awesome is all i can say. yea i get a nasty boost spike... but 3rd gear chirps at 50mph are always of so fun.
ok... um to the person who said PTB only occurs when your car isn't on PCM control... die. your solenoid reacts slower and is a restriction in your system... you can spike more boost and hold more boost at redline if you route through the solenoid but the damn thing is so annoying, it reacts slowly so you have WORSE PTB. My car's vacuum lines are set up like the PTB-elimination How-To on the kiddie pool and i have no problems with PTB at all, the BOV can be heard letting air out under 0psi if you're at 50% throttle, 75% and theres some PTB, 100% all power baby. go die, quickly, violently, no i'm just playing with you but the stuff above is true.
i'm drunk.

PTB FTL...
13.69 @ 106.2 FTL learn how to drive or be stuck in the 13's forever
aftermarket wga's will be faster... stock or stage 2/3 wga are better for those that use tampons... i ran my agp on stock lines when i first got it to test it out.. ran fine on stage 2 pcm.. my stock pcm hated that thing... lol
