About an hour to an hour 20 from my house Sean. Last weekend I took 20 (which turns into 72 if you stay on it) and Byron is off of 72.

Or 88 to 39, 39 to the Byron exit which is 72.

whats the problem old timer... those directions where spot on...

I remember about 2-3 years ago, Reef and I took route 72 all the way back from Byron after a track even.... Just past one of the small towns out that way, we happen to just be about 4-5 seconds back of a accident that happened right in front of us between a Van and a Mustang. The Van appeared to just blow a stop sign and come out into 55 mph traffic. The stant had no chance in missing it and hit is pretty well. Reef and I were possibly the first 2 on the site. The driver, a young female, was hurt, but not too badly, she was mostly in shock of everything and complained of her legs hurting. Reef and I pulled her out of the stang and tried to calm her while down. I remember the driver of the van already out of the van running around looking for his dog. He was later found to be drunk and didn't have a scratch on him. I was asked by the girl to please call her parents and to please let them know what is going on. That was quite the conversation over the phone. I did get a phone call later on in the day by the parents and the girl thanking me and who ever else was there that day for stopping and helping out.

I think of that every time i go to byron

Wow, reminds me of something similar...over the summer there was an SUV that went airborn and crashed through a Subway Restaurant on Route 31 injuring nearly everyone inside and even killed one man. My Mom was the first on the scene and was pulling chairs out of the way trying to get people out, while 15 gawkers stood there and did nothing. After the tables were cleared the middle-eastern driver got out and just went and sat on the curb nonchalantly and did absolutely nothing! It's really surprising to see how moronic people tend to act when there is an actual crisis on hand. I'm glad you guys were good samaritans and actually tried to help out.

Reef at a CSC Track day? No way lol

Reef can you make this one?

The reason why some people are afraid to help is that America has become a sue happy country. Flo and Reef had good intentions, but had the girls injuries become worse from them helping her out of the car, they could be held partially liable for her injuries. I know that's B.S. but I'm sure a lawyer could have a field day with that one.

I think doing nothing is totally wrong, but on the same token being sued for trying to help is equally wrong.

True, but the people standing around didn't even have enough common sense to call 911.

Pretty sad when you see someone nearly killed and the only thing on your mind is "I could get sued for saving this person."

Back to the topic of drag racing...can we bring the tent or something to put all our stuff by or should I convince my Dad to bring his truck for people to throw tires in again similar to GLD?

KALVIN
10-03-2007, 05:05 PM
In a lot of situations, especially if you are unable to tell if there are neck or spine inuries you should not move the driver or passenger out of the vehicle as you could paralize them or cause more damage...

Also, you should not be moving anyone at all unless there is a fire without the proper training and certification. I have a lot of EMT/Firefighter friends that can confirm this.

But calling 911 is the first thing you should do.

Though i do agree that its a reason why people don't help for the most part now, at the time, that never crossed my mind. Though she was kinda dazed and wanted to get out of the car. Initally i was tring to get her to just remain still and seated in the car. But there was a small smell of gasoline, and the horn was just blaring on the car... I think it was reef that went inthere and just ripped the batter out of the car.

I don't think that "i might get sued" would ever be my first reaction... It might one day get me into bigger problems, but i don't ever want to have the feeling of "what if i could of helped".

Sure... as long as you don't suddenly show up with 10 cars.... you mentioned 3 cars... 3-5 cars would be fine. I plan on inviting a few GTO's and Larry (GNXS) with the Cobra is already invited. He might bring a couple of his close friends.

alrighty then.... looks like we might have a weather issue.... There appears to be showers in the Byron area... we really won't know how much until the day before.

We might have to come up with something to do if it appears to be rain that day.... On Sunday, it appears to be clear as of right now, i also know that it is a T&T day as well.

We are going to have to play this one by ear

People west of Schaumburg or anyone for that matter...

I will start a caravan to join up with the Hooters people as they head West on 90.

Location:
7-Eleven
1570 N Randall Rd
Elgin, IL

If you are exiting 90, head South and the gas station will be on your right hand side. It is within one mile of I-90.

Be there by 8:30am and we will join up with the Schaumburg group at about 8:45am as they pass by.

Fernanado or someone else in the Schaumburg group please call me when you are approaching Randall Rd. or we will just assume you left at 8:30.

hey, I was there, and brought a buddy who will likely join CSC, I did 13.5 @ 106, which is about what I thought I would do today, my buddy did 12.5 @ 116, not bad eh!! Too bad there weren't more people from CSC there, but with the Viper club there, we actually did have a really nice turn out!!

It was a great time. Weather was great. My car ran great. 12.4 was the best et. 115 was my best trap speed. Wait till I get the toy box. that was non hom. pcm controlled boost. maybe some slicks would be nice.

New personal best.....

11.7 @ 122...

That was the best 6 HP for $7500 ever!

I swear if I ever have to spend $9000 grand again, I better get that 11 HP again.

So for all you doubters *cough*Bullseye*cough*, this was the best $12000 I ever spent.

:D
